No such thing as a free lunch?! Ride-Away and NMEDA disagree.

Calling all occupational therapists and physical therapists in the Washington, D.C. area! Ride-Away Handicap Equipment Corporation and the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association are hosting a free lunch and learn on Thursday, January 26 at the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

This unique event is designed to introduce occupational and physical therapists to the mobility industry, in an effort to further enhance a patient’s quality of life. In this hour long session, Ride-Away Maryland will provide information and live demos of automotive mobility solutions for your clients, including wheelchair accessible vans, wheelchair and scooter lifts, wheelchair accessible trucks, hand controls / driving controls, and wheelchair accessible motorcycles.

Plenty of time will be available to network with other healthcare and mobility professionals, and attendees are also eligible to receive .1 AOTA CEU credits (1 contact hour) at no additional charge.  Oh, and did we mention that lunch is on us?

Walk with Ride-Away at the Spina Biffida and ALS Walks this Weekend

Ride-Away of Maryalnd is proud to sponsor two great walk events this weekend in the Baltimore/DC area: the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Biffida Event on Saturday, October 15th in Arlington, and the Walk to Defeat ALS Event on Sunday, October 16th in Washington, DC.  The Walk-N-Roll event will benefit the Spina Biffida Association of the Mid-Atlantic Region, and is intended to raise awareness about Spina Bifida and celebrate the accomplishments of the over 166,000 Americans living with it.  The Walk to Defeat ALS events will go to benefit the ALS Association and help them to raise money for a cure.  It also raises funds to sustain patient care and support cutting-edge research by the world’s best and brightest scientists.  Ride-Away of Maryland is looking forward to seeing all of the participants this weekend!  For more information on these events, please visit the Spina Biffida or ALS Association websites.

Walk with Ride-Away of Maryland in the Fight Against ALS

Ride-Away of Maryland is proud to be a supporter of the Walk to Defeat ALS event on Sunday, September 25th at the Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, MD.  Registration begins at 9:00AM with the walk to follow promptly at 10:00AM.  This annual event is one of the largest events that the ALS Association hosts, and it is designed to raise funds for ALS research and to help support those actively living with ALS.  For more information on how to participate in the walk this weekend, please visit the ALS Association’s DC/MD/VA Chapter website.

Join Ride-Away of Maryland at the 3rd Annual Adaptive Sports Festival

Kernan Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital will be holding its third annual Adapted Sports Festival on Saturday, September 17th at the Kernan Rehabilitation Hospital in Baltimore, MD.  This event was intended for individuals of all abilities to lead active, healthy lifestyles by being able to participate in wheelchair sport activities such as hand cycling, boccia ball, wheelchair basketball, a wheelchair slalom course, and adapted golf.  Ride-Away of Maryland is going to be exhibiting at this event, so stop by our booth for the latest information on adaptive equipment and all of the options we have for wheelchair accessible vehicles in Maryland. Ride-Away to Attend the National Rehabilitation Hospital’s Annual Las Vegas Night Event

This Friday, February 18th, marks the Annual National Rehabilitation Hospital’s Las Vegas Night Event, and Ride-Away of Beltsville (the premier provider of handicap vans in Maryland) will be in attendance.  The event will have gambling table such as Texas Hold ‘Em, Roulette, and Black Jack, and the proceeds will to go benefiting the hospital’s various programs for people with disabilities such as brain and spinal cord injuries and stroke.  For more information on this event, please visit the NRH website.
